| cat: our lil baby Joseph is now 3 weeks old... can't believe 3 weeks have already flown by. recovery was going well... so i thought but then this past Friday i got hit hard with mastitis!!! yeah, i may have had mild cases with CJ but this time it has been really bad... chills: these chills SUCKED!!! my fingertips would literally turn white and my fingers numb. i would be wearing a long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, pants, and socks lying under a sheet and blanket and STILL i would be FREEZING!!! my whole body hurt from the shivering. fever: i think the highest i hit was 103.something... headaches: still have these... my head hurts off and on! tender breast: lets just say - OUCH! knee pain: not sure how this is related but i am just clumping it in all together cuz it's all happening at the same time. my right knee hurts to bend and straighten, it hurts to stand up from a sitting position when putting weight on it. yup... my body is just shutting down on me. :( boo hoo... i must be getting old. chills and fever are gone! thank goodness! :) i've been really fortunate and lucky that this came during the weekend cuz henry was home and while my mom is here visiting!!! i don't know what i would have done it i had to do it on my own or just with henry. having the extra pair of hands really helped. as for joseph he's doing well. he's feeding well and getting bigger with each passing day. i feel kind of bad cuz we don't take as many pictures as we did with CJ. hopefully once i am feeling better and fully recovered i can be better about it. so being a mother of two... so far i have had help... if it isn't henry, it's my mom, or henry's parents, or another family member... oh man, what am i going to do when it's just ME!!! for those other moms our there with multiple kids... any advice will be helpful! :) goodnight. | | |

Hmmm... Maybe he doesn't look like CJ. (That's Cat's baby picture) fyi, on a side note, I just rediscovered that Jaundice is higher in East Asian newborns, particularly Japanese and Philipino. Also, in interracial couples, newborns of asian male/while female have higher risk of jaundice than the other way around. Why am I telling you this? Both CJ and JT both had high levels of Billirubin which causes Jaundice. And if you are Asian, I bet you did too. Hence the yellow tone skin in the picture above. | | |
| HEN: Full House: So what's it like now with 2 kids? It's funny because before JT was born, I wasn't really scared of raising another child. For the most part, CJ was pretty easy. Life didn't change too much. So I wasn't too concerned about JT. Well...right off the bat, the first thing to change is having to care for JT while having CJ around. So far that's been the hardest thing. For example, Cat is currently not suppose to pickup anything heavier than the baby (6-10 lbs). Not to mention, she's not suppose to walk up stairs or exert herself too much. So how do I get both kids in the car without the help of my wife? I guess this is more unique because of the C-Section, but it does present it's challenges. The second thing we ran into was naptime. CJ was napping, but baby was crying. CJ is a light sleeper when it comes to sudden noise (otherwise he'll sleep through anything.) Luckily, the baby didn't wake up CJ during his nap yesterday. Then comes the diaper bag. My dad had minor surgery this week, so to make life easy on everyone, we decided to stay with my parents (no stairs, an extra pair of eyes, family can come to one central location). While getting our things together, our diaper bag was HUGE. It's like going on a week long vacation. Once again...this is more because JT is a tiny baby, but still...lots of stuff to bring along. All in all, it's been an interesting adjustment. CJ loves JT. He likes to hold him and give him stuff he's eating. He likes to share his Thomas toys with him too...it's really cute. Thanks to everyone who came out to the hospital. It was a little hectic, but Cat really likes having guest.
